This birth preparation session is a short refresher for parents wanting a natural birth with their second or subsequent baby.

You will have a chance to debrief past birth experiences, talk over any issues and explore what, if anything, you would like to do differently this time.

With that in mind perhaps, we will go over what's going on with the baby and in the mother's body as labour progresses and contrast the things that can make birth easier and safer with the kinds of things that can become a hindrance. We will have time to practise a variety of upright positions, movement, breathing and visualisation that can make it easier to cope with contractions with less reliance on drugs, and help the baby to make its way into the outside world.

As busy parents already, it will be very constructive to†take a little time out together to focus on the birth of your new baby. Birth partners usually go away with a greater understanding of how women's bodies work in labour and be a lot more confident and effective in the ways they can be helpful and look after you, including massage.
